I'm a Behavioural Ecologist, broadly interested in how social animals respond behaviourally and physiologically to changes in their environment.
I have been fortunate to work in a variety of study systems pursuing questions on how social and environmental factors shape the challenges animals face and how they overcome them (find out more under 'Research').
One of the things I'm most excited about is how we can combine field observations and experiments with new technology (like multi-sensor bio-loggers) to gain new insights into animal behaviour and tackle pressing conservation questions.
I love engaging with different audiences and getting creative to make science more accessible.

On a personal note, my love for animal behaviour started long before I knew you could study animals as a full-time occupation. Like many kids, the question “but why?” featured heavily in my day-to-day, particularly when it came to how animals (and sometimes humans) behaved. This curiosity has remained, but my questions have become (slightly) more refined.
Along with my curiosity, a sense of impending doom keeps me awake at odd hours. By surrounding myself with kind-hearted and motivated people, I find hope in our current environmental and political climate. Through my research, I hope to contribute to our understanding of the natural world and instil a sense of admiration and guardianship for nature in kids and adults.
